Cups of Coffee

Every job requires teamwork.  We work together.  We leave the yard as a team, and we return as a team.  Safety Marking thrives on teamwork.  Nothing we do can be done by a single person.  Learn together.  Work together.  Succeed together.  That’s SAMETEAM.  That’s Safety Marking.

Essential Topics

All Road Crew employees begin with the Core Four – Hand Grinders, Grinding Trucks, Paint Machines, and Paint Trucks.

Videos are always available for refreshing your memory.  However, in order to become qualified on equipment, you must: take the full course, log the mandatory hours, pass the hands-on Job Performance Measure.

Hand Grinders

Hand Grinders:  Von Arx and Graco Grindlazers go where the larger trucks can’t.  They are used every day and require careful operation to avoid damaging road surfaces.

Grinding Trucks: Non-CDL & CDL

Grinding trucks are both Non-CDL (10, 11, & 12) and CDL Required (16, 17 & 18).  G-16 & G-18 are Dual Carriage, and G-17 is equppied with a lift-crane.

Paint Trucks

We rely on our MB and MRL paint trucks every day and night to deliver the best results.  Operating and maintaing them requires a great team effort and specialized expertise.

Paint Machines

The Graco Line Lazer paint machine is one of the most frequently used pieces of equipment and requires frequent maintenance to get the best results.

Accumulators

The materials have to flow smoothly and evenly from the trucks and that means our crews need to understand how accumulators and pumps work to provide consistent pressure.

Commercial Truck Inspections

The Connecticut State Police present a thorough presentation on the details of a Commercial Truck Inspection.  From registration and insurance to load securement, they explain how a successful inspection starts with a professional pre-trip of your vehicle befor leaving the yard.
